Services
The official currency in Tenerife is the euro (EUR), which makes financial transactions easier for tourists from the European Union. Banks and currency exchange offices are available in all tourist areas, and ATMs are located on virtually every corner. Most shops, restaurants, and services accept credit and debit cards, which simplifies shopping and payments.
Healthcare in Tenerife is of a high standard. Private clinics and hospitals provide top-quality medical services comparable to those in Europe. Hospiten Sur and Quirónsalud Hospital Costa Adeje are popular among tourists and locals alike thanks to their high-quality care and modern facilities. For those who experience dental problems during their vacation, there is also a Slovak dentist available.
The island's transport network is well developed. If you plan to explore the entire island, we recommend renting a car or motorcycle. The TITSA bus network is reliable and covers most areas of the island, and traveling by bus is inexpensive. Taxis are also available, but they can be more expensive.
The electrical network in Tenerife operates at the same voltage as in Slovakia, and the sockets are the same as in continental Europe. This means that visitors from Europe do not need adapters. Power outages are very rare.
Drinking water is available directly from the taps on the island, but for those who prefer bottled water, it is readily available in supermarkets and shops in various sizes and at reasonable prices.
